Now more and more people are starting to use scented candles, but they should also pay attention to safety when using scented candles.

Many people worry whether the dripping of scented candle wax will cause burns or fire. The dripping of scented candle wax may indeed

cause burns or fire hazards, but the degree of risk depends on the specific usage scenario and operation method. If used correctly, it basiclly will not happen.

The following is a detailed analysis and safety recommendations:

1. Risk of burns

High-temperature wax: When the candle burns, the temperature of the melted wax is usually between 50-80℃ (depending on the wax material), and contact with the skin may cause minor burns (especially for children or sensitive skin)

Precautions:

- Avoid touching the dripping wax directly with your hands.

- If the wax drips on the skin, rinse with cold water immediately to cool it down.

- Keep away from children and pets when using candles.

2. Fire Hazards

- Open Flame Ignition: If wax drips onto combustibles (such as paper, cloth, and wooden furniture), and the candle

flame contacts these materials, it may cause a fire.

- Cracked Candle Container: If a glass or ceramic candle cup cracks due to high temperature or poor quality, it may

cause wax to leak and spread the fire.

Preventive Measures:

- Stable Placement: Place the candle on a fireproof and heat-resistant surface, away from flammable materials such as

curtains and sheets.

- Use Candlesticks/Candle Trays: Choose containers with high edges to prevent wax from spilling.

- Avoid Unattended: Do not leave a burning candle in an unattended room for a long time.

- Trim the Candle Wick: Keep the wick length at about 0.5cm to avoid excessive flames or black smoke.

3. Common Causes of Wax Dripping

- Poor Candle Quality: Inferior wax or too many additives may cause the melting point to be too low and easy to drip.

- Ventilation Environment: Fans or open windows cause unstable airflow, causing the flame to sway and the wax to

splash.

- Tilt burning: The candle is not placed flat or the wick is offset, resulting in the accumulation of wax on one side.

4. Safe use suggestions

- Choose quality candles: give priority to natural materials such as soy wax and beeswax, which have a moderate melting

point and are not easy to drip.

- Use candle covers or candle extinguishers: avoid blowing when extinguishing the candle, which may cause the wax to

splash.

- Clean the wax pool regularly: During the burning process, pour out the excess liquid wax in time (need to cool before

processing).

In short, although the dripping of wax from scented candles is common, the risk can be greatly reduced reasonable operation and preventive measures.

Be sure to follow the principle of "stay away from flammable materials, do not burn for a long time, and supervise by a dedicated person" to ensure safety while

enjoying the fragrance.
